Debra Bowman was born in Arlington, Virginia, during the 1950s. When she was five years old, her family moved to California to follow her father's employment. She attended elementary and junior high school in San Jose, California, and high school in Hollister, California. She is a two-time graduate of San Jose State University in San Jose, California, where she graduated summa cum laude, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and a Master’s in Business Administration. Behavioral science has been a lifelong interest of hers, which prompted her to expand her studies to include a minor in Psychology.
Today, Debra resides with her husband and standard poodle in Silicon Valley. Their travels take them on frequent visits to see their relatives and friends in the United States and Canada. She is a retired financial service professional, having served much of her career in leadership and managerial positions. Debra's philosophy that decision-making requires the equal deployment of the heart and the brain was formed through the combination of her university studies, the practical experience she acquired throughout her career, the knowledge gained from numerous seminars attended, literature read on the topic of behavioral science, and parenting.
